PHL Philadelphia International Airport

The Philadelphia International Airport’s Office of Business Diversity, PHL Capital Development Group, PHL Procurement Administration Unit, and Marketplace PHL held a business capacity building workshop entitled “Preparing for Capital Project Opportunities at PHL Airport” on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at International Plaza One. This workshop was designed to provide small businesses and emerging M/W/DBEs in the capital infrastructure arena with an overview of PHL capital project opportunities, as well as an understanding of how to identify and prepare for these opportunities.

There were 32 workshop participants representing 25 firms. The participants provided overwhelming positive feedback saying the workshop was not only useful and relevant to them, but that they would recommend the workshop to other eligible firms in the future. Networking opportunities were also highlighted as a positive feature of the session.

The morning event covered a range of topics including: Diversity Objectives for Capital Project Procurement, Where to find PHL Opportunities and Upcoming Opportunities, Marketplace PHL Construction Opportunities and Understanding PHL’s Unique Working Requirements. Sessions covering tips for success and small business element were covered as well. Executives made presentations from PHL, Marketplace PHL and Global Program Partners.
